H.E. Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India visited Secretaries, Government of Tamil Nadu

H. E. Mr. Milan Hovorka, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India visited the Secretariat during his visit to Chennai on Mar 8, 2021.

Mr. Hovorka, Ambassador had met Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, IAS - Chief Secretary, GoTN & Mr. Vikram Kapur, IAS - Addition Chief Secretary, Tourism, Culture & Religious Endowments Department, GoTN at their respective Chambers.

Mr. Ar Rm Arun, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Chennai and Mr. Jakub Jaroš, Economic & Commercial Counsellor, Czech Embassy-New Delhi accompanied the Ambassador for the Courtesy visits.

This visit was to put forth the strong interest & to increase cultural ties and engagement between Tamil Nadu & the Czech Republic. The discussion held towards developing various Sectors within the State with major focus on Automotive, Industrial & Defense Corridor and Education & Tourism sectors considering the good interest with larger attractiveness.

Mr. Arun, Honorary Consul informed about planning for a Tourism Webinar along with both Tourism Departments & the Tour Operators. He also conveyed about an annual Czech International Engineering Fair, which could also make larger ways to collabrate between Czechia & Tamil Nadu.

It was also discussed that cooperation between the Czechia & Tamil Nadu Universities shall be enhanced. Also the Tourism & Industrial cooperation could be strengthened further with view of high level mutal delegations later this year once the COVID pandemic situation signs off.
