Mr. Ar Rm Arun has been appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Chennai. The Honorary Consulate with the consular jurisdiction for the State of Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry was opened officially by H.E. Mr. Milan Hovorka, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India on Mar 13, 2019 at Vel Vilas, 3/21 Kottur Garden 3rd Main Road, Kotturpuram, Chennai 600 085 and this was followed by a Dinner Reception to mark the Occasion.
The Consulate will be accessible to the Czech citizens who could be in need of consular services. It will also endeavor to promote trade and investment relations as well as people-to-people contacts between the Czech Republic, on the one hand, with Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, on the other hand.
Thiru. K. Pandiarajan, MLA - Honorable Minister for the Tamil Official Language and Tamil Culture, Govt. of Tamil Nadu had graciously been the Chief Guest and Mr. Gopalkrishna Gandhi, IAS (Retd.) and former Governor of West Bengal been the Guest of Honor for the Reception. Both the Guests had expressed their views and scope of development towards bilateral relationships and growth among India and the Czech Republic.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Hovorka said : "Honorary Consul Mr. Arun, renowned Tamil Nadu's entrepreneur, has been nominated and appointed for his personal integrity, extensive background, industry experience and continued commitment to contribute to the cause of strengthening and deepening bilateral relations between Czechia and India."
Speaking at the Reception, Mr. Arun spoke about being humbled by the honour of this responsibility bestowed upon him by the beautiful country of the Czech Republic and he look forward to Fostering Friendship among India and the Czech Republic, with a specific focus on Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
While supporting the required consular responsibilities, towards growing the Indo-Czech bilateral relationship,
Mr. Arun look forward to boosting business & cultural activities in Tamil Nadu & Puducherry through bilateral trade, commerce, cultural and people exchanges.
