Czech Honorary Consulate Chennai Karthigai Deepam Wishes

Karthikai Deepam is a festival of lights observed during the Tamil month of Karthikai (mid-Nov to mid-Dec). The full moon day of this Karthikai month is called Karthigai Pournami which is considered auspicious. Dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Murugan (Kartikeya), Karthigai Deepam is similar to Deepavali, as devotees light oil lamps to worship & seek blessings

It is believed that on this day, Lord Shiva emerged as a source of unending light to eliminate darkness and evil. Also Lord Kartikeya came into being only on this day.
