Tamil Nadu Government extends the Lockdown for another two weeks till Aug 23rd

The Tamil Nadu government has extended the lockdown for another two weeks till Aug 23, 2021. The already permitted activities will continue in the State, except in containment zones.

To make sure that people don't crowd in large numbers at places of worship, the state govt said that religious places will remain shut for devotees on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays.

The Government is also planning to reopen schools for students of classes 9 to 12 with 50% capacity following the SOPs from Sep 1st. Medical Colleges and other medical-related Institutions including Nursing are allowed to reopen from Aug 16th.
