Tamil Nadu Government announces night curfew, complete lockdown on Sunday's from Apr 20, 2021 to curb COVID spread.

The Tamil Nadu government has announced restrictions from Apr 20th which includes a night curfew from 10 pm to 4 am and a complete lockdown on Sundays.

Public entry has been prohibited to Nilgris, Kodaikanal and Yercaud and other tourist spots including beaches, parks and zoos.

As per the fresh restrictions, all public and private transport, including inter-state and inter-district bus services, auto-rickshaws, taxis, and other vehicles, will not be allowed to ply during the night curfew hours and on Sundays.

IT companies have been directed to allow 50 per cent of their employees to work from home. Continuous processing industries and other factories manufacturing necessary items have been allowed to operate. Employees working in these companies can commute to work during the curfew hours. But they must carry their identity cards.

College and Universities to conduct classes thru online mode. All college and university examinations will be conducted online.

On all days (except Sunday), hotels and restaurants, tea shops, vegetable shops, grocery stores and all other shops, shopping malls, jewellery stores, big format stores can function with a maximum capacity of 50% at any given point of time, till 9 pm.

On Sundays, hotels and restaurants will be allowed to provide only takeaway services between 6 am & 10 am, 12 pm & 3 pm, and 6 pm & 9 pm. Food delivery apps and e-commerce sites that provide food delivery services will be allowed to operate only during these times. Other e-commerce firms will not be allowed to operate on Sundays.
