Tamil Nadu Government extends COVID-19 lockdown till Apr 30, 2021

Tamil Nadu Government has extended the COVID-19 restrictions with existing relaxations and statewide lockdown till Apr 30, 2021. The Government will effectively implement the test-track-treat protocol to contain the spread of virus.

District Collectors have been asked to enforce Social distancing norms very strictly. SOPs for travelling in aircraft, trains and metro rails are also to be strictly enforced by District Authorities.

The District Administrations have been instructed to step up the pace of vaccination to all priority groups to break the chain of transmission. Also should take all necessary measures with strict adherence to wearing of face masks, hand hygiene and social distancing.

Containment Zones will now be demarcated at macro-levels and it shall be the responsibility of the local district, police and municipal authorities to ensure that the prescribed containment measures are strictly followed.

International travel restrictions remains prohibited, except for the purpose permitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
