Tamil Nadu Government extends COVID-19 lockdown till Feb 28, 2021 with further relaxations

Tamil Nadu Government has announced an extension of the general COVID-19 lockdown till midnight of Feb 28, 2021 with further relaxations.

Schools for Classes 9 and 11 ; all Undergraduate & Post Graduate including Diploma courses, Arts & Science, Technical, Engineering, Agriculture, Fisheries and Veterinary Colleges & Universities will resume Classes from Feb 8th. Hostels are as well permitted to reopen on Feb 8th.

Swimming Pools & Exhibition Halls can be reopened from Feb 1st, however to adhere to the State Government's SOP.

Restriction on International Flight services will continue except for the routes already allowed by the Centre.

Cinemas and threatres have been allowed to open at 100 per cent capacity from Feb 1st.

Sports tournaments can be held in stadiums with a capacity of 50 per cent of the venue.

50 percent occupancy with a ceiling of 600 persons only has been permitted for Marriage, Political and Religious gatherings. Function in open spaces can be conducted with 50 per cent capacity of the particular venue.
