Tamil Nadu Government extends COVID-19 lockdown till Jan 31, 2021

Tamil Nadu Government has announced an extension of the general COVID-19 lockdown till midnight of Jan 31, 2021 with several relaxations.

All religious places of worship can be kept open as per the normal timings and people have to adhere to follow the SOPs.

The existing system of E-registration for those coming to Tamil Nadu from States other than Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Union Territory of Puducherry would continue.

Restriction on International Flight services will continue except for the routes already allowed by the Centre.

Indoor events social, political and religious congregations can be held with 50 per cent of total seating capacity or not exceeding 200 persons from Jan 1st. Permission from the District Collectors and from Commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation has to be obtained.

Film and Serial shooting can take place without any restrictions on number of crew members and with maintaining physical distancing are allowed till Jan 31st.

To prevent spread of COVID-19 and to avoid people gathering in large numbers, there will be no entry for public to Marina and other beaches across the state for New Year celebrations on Dec 31st & Jan 1st and Jan 16th the last day of Pongal.
