Tamil Nadu Government extends COVID-19 lockdown till Mar 31, 2021

Tamil Nadu Government has announced an extension of the COVID restrictions and statewide lockdown till Mar 31, 2021.

Offices, Workplaces, Shops, Markets, Industrial and Commercial establishments are directed to continue with staggered working hours.

The Police & Municipal Authorities have been directed to enforce strict COVID-19 appropriate behaviour which also includes the use of Face masks in public and maintain social distancing.

Containment Zones will now be demarcated at macro-levels and it shall be the responsibility of the local district, police and municipal authorities to ensure that the prescribed containment measures are strictly followed.

It is also advised that strict adherence to the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be followed which includes movement of passanger traings, air travel, metro trains, schools, higher educational institutions, hotels & restaurants, shopping malls, multiplexes & entertainment parks, yoga centre & gymnasiums, etc shall be strictly enforced by the district authorities concerned who shall also be responsible for their strict observance.

International travel restrictions remains prohibited, apart from the esssential services and permitted exceptions.
