Tamil Nadu Government extends COVID-19 lockdown till Oct 31, 2020

Tamil Nadu Government announced its decision to extend the ongoing lockdown till Oct 31, 2020 and added further more relaxations.

Essential items and all the relaxations already announced under the State’s Unlock guidelines will continue to be in place, however restrictions would continue to remain in the Containment Zones.

Under the new guidelines, Tea Shops and Restaurants are allowed to function from 6am to 9pm. Parcel services will now be permitted till 10pm. Government and Government affiliated institutions can function adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures. The number of domestic flights to arrive at Chennai Airport will be increased to One Hundred per day from the current Fifty.

Educational Institutions, amusement parks, entertainment centres, museums and gatherings for Religious, Cultural and Social events will continue to remain closed. Suburban Train service will remain suspended.
