The Tamil Nadu government has extended lockdown for another one week till 6pm on Jun 14, 2021 and relaxed lockdown curbs in most of the districts including Chennai.
Though the Covid-19 spread has come under control in several districts, 11 districts report a high number of cases - Coimbatore, The Nilgiris, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam & Mayiladuthurai. Certain relaxations are extended to these districts too to meet the essential requirements of the people.
Already permitted activities would continue in all the districts. Standalone gorcery, vegetable, meat & fish stalls will be allowed between 6am & 5pm in all districts.
All Government Offices will be permitted with 30% workforce and Sub-treasury Offices will function with 50 tokens per day for registrations.
Considering the declining trend in rest of the State, including Chennai, additional relaxations has been announced by the Government. Services of private security agencies and housekeeping agencies are permitted with e-Registration.
Electricians, plumbers, motor technicians, carpenters will be permitted between 6am and 5pm with e-Registration. Shops that sell Electrical goods (Bulbs, Cables & Wires, Switches), Hardware shops, Vehicle Spare parts shops, Books & Stationary shops, bicycle and two-wheeler repairs and vehicle repair centres of the vehicle distributors will be permitted between 6am & 5pm.
Rental cars, taxis and auto rickshaws will be allowed with e-Registration, however only three passengers in rental taxis and two passengers in auto rickshaws will be allowed.
e-Pass is required from the District Collectors to travel to The Nilgiris, Kodaikanal, Yercaud, Yelagiri and Courtallam.
Exports units in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Salem, Karur, Erode, Namakkal, Trichy and Madurai districts and vendor units providing inputs having export commitments or orders shall function with 10% workforce following SOPs.
