Tamil Nadu Government extends total lockdown till Jun 7th to curb Covid

The Tamil Nadu government had extended total lockdown with no relaxations in the State till Jun 7, 2021.

The Government had also mentioned that though there is an extension on the Covid-19 lockdown in the state, there will not be any restriction on medical services, pharmacies and vaccination. All other current restrictions in place will continue.

Vegetables and fruits will continue to be sold in mobile vans. All other shops are not permitted to open and takeaway services are only allowed in restaurants. Tea shops are also not allowed to function.

The provision stores, with the permission of local bodies, would be allowed to sell commodities in their respective areas through vehicles like mini cargo vans or pushcarts. The delivery of groceries through online mode will be allowed between 7 am and 6 pm.

In Chennai & other districts, the horticulture department in coordination with local bodies will supply vegetables and fruits through vehicles.

Inter-district movement on medical grounds will be allowed upon e-registration, however Intra-district movement on medical grounds need not register.

Continuous process Industries, Industries manufacturing essential commodities and medical equipment will be permitted as per the previous guidelines.
