Tamil Nadu Government imposes total lockdown with no relaxations for a week to curb Covid

The Tamil Nadu government had imposed total lockdown with no relaxations in the State for a week beginning May 24, 2021.

Essential departments like Secretariat, other Offices in Chennai and other districts will function.

Employees of private establishments, banks, insurance companies, IT/ITES are asked to work from home.

The Government has permitted pharmacies, supply of milk, drinking water and newspapers. Transportation of agriculture produce & inputs will be allowed. Also Frieght vehicles and movement of essential commodities will be allowed.

In Chennai & other districts, the horticulture department in coordination with local bodies will supply vegetables and fruits through vehicles.

e-Commerce Companies will be allowed to carry out deliveries from 8am to 6pm. ATMs, Petrol & Diesel Pumps will be allowed to function as usual.

Inter-district movement on medical grounds will be allowed upon e-registration, however Intra-district movement on medical grounds need not register.

Continuous process Industries, Industries manufacturing essential commodities and medical equipment will be permitted as per the previous guidelines.
