Mr. Ar Rm Arun, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic had met H. E. Mr. Milan Hovorka, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India at Chennai. Mr. Arun had a brief discussion with the Ambassador on the present activities being focused towards the Bilateral relationship of Czech Republic and Tamil Nadu, India.
While appreciating Mr. Arun’s efforts, the Ambassador had mentioned that Mr. Arun is doing pretty well to promote relations of Czechia with the State of Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry.
H. E. Mr. Milan Hovorka, Ambassador had come to Chennai towards participating in an Diplomatic Outreach Event being organized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, to be held on Feb 21, 2020.

State Governments play an important role in enriching India’s economic engagement and accelerating national development. With the objective of promoting global economic engagement of State Governments and providing a platform for systematic interaction with the diplomatic community, Economic Diplomacy and States Division, India’s Ministry of External Affairs organized a State-specific diplomatic outreach event as part of its State Facilitation activities.
The Outreach event was organized in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in collaboration with the State Government. The event aims to showcase Investor-friendly initiatives of the State Government and highlight investment opportunities & tourism in the State.
The Diplomatic Outreach event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Edappadi K. Palanisami on Feb 21, 2020 and was also addressed by Mr. T. S. Tirumurti, Secretary (Economic Relations), Ministry of External Affairs, India. The event was attended by Ambassadors/High Commissioners/Heads of Missions from New Delhi and Career Consuls based in Chennai.
While speaking on the occasion, H.E. Mr. Milan Hovorka, Ambassador said : "Tamil Nadu has distinguished itself for its fast economic growth, strong industrial fundamentals, large talent pool, good governance, receptiveness to leading edged technologies and great historical heritage. This is why the Czech Embassy would like to have more interactions with this progressive State and also had opened the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic here in Chennai to facilitate these interactions."
After the Inaugural session, the Delegates visited few R&D Centres and later departed to Mamallapuram. After an overnight stay, the guests were taken for a morning tour of the magnificent Shore Temples and other adjoining monuments on Feb 22nd which was followed by a visit to Mahindra World City, India’s first integrated business city and corporate India’s first operational SEZ promoted in Public-Private Partnership model.
