Traffic Alert for Czech Citizens in & near Chennai, Tamil Nadu : Oct 10th to Oct 12, 2019

We urge Czech citizens to avoid visiting Mamallapuram, around 50 Kms to Chennai from Oct 10th to Oct 12, 2019 as the Monuments to remain shut during the High Profile Informal Summit is to take place. Government of Tamil Nadu had restricted entries of Visitors considering high level of Security towards the Summit.

The Traffic directions will be restricted or re-routed in Chennai (Airport to Guindy) and the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) due the transit of High Profile VVIP’s travel movement by Road in particular to the below given time schedule on Oct 11th and 12th.

On Oct 11th from 12.30pm to 2pm : All vehicles coming from Perungalathur (Near Tambaram) will not be permitted into City and will be diverted thru Maduravayil Bypass Road.

On Oct 12th from 7.30am to 2pm : All vehicles coming into OMR will be diverted from Sholinganallur Junction towards Perumbakkam.

GST Road (Chennai Airport to Kathipara), Anna Salai (Kathipara to Little Mount), Sardar Vallabhai Patel Road, Rajiv Gandhi Road (OMR) and East Coast Road (ECR) - Heavy Vehicles, Load Trucks, Tanker Lorrys will not be permitted from 6am to 11am on both these days.

Actions to Take

• Wherever possible, avoid travel in areas of Airport, Guindy, OMR & ECR towards Mamallapuram.
• Within City travel, please avoid timings given above.
• Travel might get delayed due to traffic congestions.
• Please use GST Road, if required to travel by Road towards Southern districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Monitor local media for traffic updates.
